On the Nightstand….
What’s up next? Ah, angst.
That on deck circle is always
way, way too large for a busy life.
You asked what is coming up and here is, literally, the night stand.
Olive Kitteredge, by Elizabeth Strout and the 2009 Pulitzer Prize winner.
Wolf Hall, by Hilary Mantell and the this year’s Man Booker Prize winner.
(Catch up, people, if you haven’t seen the October announcement)
I want to dispel that BookSnob only means prize winners. Yes, I gravitate to many of them, but overall, the last few years of the Booker Prize has been a big disappointment. (White Tiger, admittedly, did rock.)
I am sooooooo hoping that Wolf Hall returns to the trend of wonderful, meaty, inspirational decidedly Booker fiction like Life of Pi, God of Small Things, Amsterdam. I got you covered here on the headlines.
Until then, what are you or your book groups reading *right now*??????
What’s on your nightstand?
